For swimming, the most clearly set up option is on the mainland just across the bridge. Privlaka has a fenced dog beach at a spot called Kažin, right before the Vir bridge, more than a hundred metres long and with parking and an access path, created at the request of locals and visitors. Plan around the heat. Vir has limited shade on many beaches and the pebbles warm up fast, so early mornings and evenings are the most comfortable times for your dog. Pet-friendly also means different things to different hosts: some accept only small dogs, some charge an extra fee, and some ask that pets stay out of the bedrooms. If you are travelling from another EU country, your dog needs a microchip, a rabies vaccination and an EU pet passport. Bring a water bowl on outings.
