Drašnice is a small village of a few hundred people between Podgora and Igrane, with pebble coves under pine trees and very little to distract you from the sea.

The village suits couples and families who want a quiet base with the sea on the doorstep and do not need nightlife. There are a few cafés, restaurants and a shop, but for a wider choice you drive to Podgora or Makarska. Almost every one of our Drašnice stays is within 200 metres of the beach and has a sea view, so it is a good place to look if waking up above the water matters more to you than evening entertainment.

Pebble beaches run along the front of the village, including Izbitac, which has beach showers. They are smaller and quieter than the long town beaches further north, and pines give shade in places.
Coves towards Igrane
East of the village, the coast between Drašnice and Igrane breaks into a string of small bays over a few kilometres, many backed by thick pine woods. Some can be reached on foot from the road or the shore; others are easier by boat or kayak. Take water and shoes, as there are no facilities.
Getting there and around
Drašnice is on the D8 coastal road, about 75 kilometres from Split and 150 from Dubrovnik. From Split Airport allow roughly an hour and three-quarters. Coastal buses stop along the main road. A car is useful for shopping and day trips; parking is usually easier than in Makarska, but ask your host whether a space comes with the apartment.

Tips before you book
- Evenings are very quiet; Podgora's promenade and restaurants are a few minutes' drive away.
- The coastal road runs higher up the slope, so some stays involve steps down to the sea.
- Bring water shoes and a snorkel: the pebble coves are clear and good for exploring.
