Search stays in BibinjeBibinje sits between the Adriatic coastal road and the sea, just south of Zadar and next door to Sukošan. It has around four kilometres of coastline with beaches and walking paths, and the village is old: it was first mentioned in 1214, and its name is thought to come from Vibius, a Roman who owned land here. Today it is a residential place that lives from tourism in summer, with family-run apartments stacked up the gentle slope above the water.
It works well if you want to be close to Zadar without staying in the city itself. The drive into town is short, the airport is close, and the seafront path gives you somewhere to walk in the evening, past small beaches and cafés. It is also a good fit for families, thanks to a couple of shallow coves with a sandy bottom, and for anyone who wants a quick base between an early flight and the islands.
The Old Village around Punta Rožica is the most traditional part, the historic core of the village, with the main beach on its doorstep. Stays around Karabani Bay, north of the centre, are more residential, with a string of small beaches along the bay. The eastern end by Marina Dalmacija is closer to cafés and the beach volleyball courts. A good share of our stays here are within a short walk of the sea, and many have sea views.

Punta Rožica
The main beach, in the Old Village. It is pebble, with concrete slabs for sunbathing, natural shade, showers and changing cabins. Convenient if you are staying in the centre and want a quick swim before breakfast.
Lipauska
Popular with locals as well as visitors because of its sandy bottom, which makes getting in and out of the water easy on the feet. A good choice for families who prefer not to wear water shoes.
Šulterova vala
A small cove that the local tourist board describes as a favourite with the youngest swimmers. Expect a calm, low-key spot rather than a beach with lots of facilities.
Punta (by Marina Dalmacija)
At the eastern end of Bibinje, next to Marina Dalmacija. It is pebbly, with a restaurant and café nearby and courts where beach volleyball tournaments are held in summer.
Getting there and around
Zadar Airport is a short drive inland, usually around a quarter of an hour, which makes Bibinje practical for late flights. From the A1 motorway, take the Zadar exits and follow signs south along the coast road, which passes right above the village. Zadar's centre and Gaženica ferry port are both close by. Local buses link Bibinje with Zadar, and most private apartments here come with parking.
