Search pet-friendly stays near ŠibenikDedicated dog beaches are less developed around Šibenik than in Istria or Kvarner. The town's official beach guide does not list any, and the main town beach, Banj, is a busy family beach. The one clearly organised spot we could confirm is inside the Amadria Park campsite at Zablaće, which has a separate beach for pets by the entrance to its marina. Guides also mention dog-friendly swimming around Jadrija and in the villages further along the coast, but arrangements change, so look for signs and ask your host where local dog owners swim.
Away from the beach, the area is rewarding. Krka National Park, a short drive inland, allows dogs as long as they stay on a lead at all times. They must wear a muzzle on the park's buses and boats, and they are not allowed on Visovac island or inside the Krka monastery. The wooden walkways around the waterfalls get very busy in summer, so an early start is kinder for everyone. Village lanes in Brodarica, Grebaštica or Zablaće are pleasant for evening walks.
If you take a ferry to the Šibenik islands, Jadrolinija's rules require a muzzle and a lead, and dogs over 8 kg travel on the open deck. Small pets can go in the lounge in a carrier. From another EU country your dog needs a microchip, a rabies vaccination and an EU pet passport. Hosts' rules differ too, so check size limits and any fee before booking. A shaded terrace or garden also makes a real difference during the hot midday hours.
