Around Šibenik, a stay by the water usually means a village rather than the town, with pebble coves, stone jetties and views across to small islands.
Search beachfront stays near ŠibenikŠibenik's old town climbs a hillside above the harbour, so staying there puts you near the cathedral, not a beach. The beachfront stays we list are almost all in the villages along the coast, especially to the south. Grebaštica, in a sheltered bay with a small harbour, has the widest choice, and in neighbouring Šparadići almost all our stays are by the water. Brodarica has a long pebble shore and Rezalište beach, with fine pebbles, a gradual entry and views across to the tiny island of Krapanj, where a few stays sit steps from the sea.
Just off the coastal road, Žaborić is a small, low-key village with several coves, some mixing sand and pebble, and almost all our stays there are close to the water. West of town, Zablaće sits on flat ground near the old salt pans, a short drive from the resort beaches of Amadria Park and the historic bathing spot at Jadrija. Along this whole coast the shore is pebble, rock or concrete platforms, and the water is correspondingly clear. Zablaće suits families who want resort facilities nearby.
Close to the sea here can still mean a climb. Many villages rise from the shore, so check whether the 200 metres include steps, and whether you cross a road on the way down. A stay with a terrace facing the sea is common in these villages, but confirm whether the view is direct or partial if it matters to you. Parking is another thing to confirm: in the smaller villages, spaces by the sea are few, and a stay with its own parking saves daily searching. Finally, look at where the nearest beach bar or restaurant is if you prefer quiet evenings.

- Under 250 m A couple of minutes on foot. Easiest with small children, beach bags and a midday break back at the apartment.
- 250–500 m Roughly a five-minute walk. Still an easy daily routine, often in quieter streets a little back from the shore.
- 500 m – 1 km A ten-to-fifteen-minute walk, or a short drive. The widest choice of places to stay.

Rarely. The old town is on a hillside above the harbour, and the town beach, Banj, is a few minutes' walk from the centre. For a stay right by the water, the villages of Grebaštica, Brodarica, Žaborić and Zablaće are the better choice.
